Ontario residents may soon pay a recycling surcharge on electronic gadgets, such as computers and televisions, as the province moves to introduce an e-waste strategy.

Wal-Mart Canada today announced the planned launch of an e-recycling program at all SAM'S CLUB Canada locations. In partnership with Greentec, the company will collect and recycle electronic waste - like cell phones, PDA's, computers, rechargeable batteries, inkjet and toner cartridges - collected from SAM'S CLUB members. In the first year, the company expects to keep more than 450,000 lbs. of electronic waste from going to landfill.
